Laurie Garrow

Professor and Director of the Air Transportation Lab - Georgia Institute of Technology

Laurie Garrow is a Professor in the Schools of Civil and Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Director of the Air Transportation Lab at Georgia Tech (ATL@GT). ATL@GT is an industry-supported research lab focused on turning advanced analytics and behavioral research into practical, scalable tools for airline decision-making. ATL@GT builds on its predecessor, the PODS Research Center run by Peter Belobaba at MIT, by bringing together airlines, technology providers, and researchers to address airline pricing and revenue management challenges using PassengerSim. PassengerSim is a competitive analysis and simulation platform that allows airlines to evaluate the revenue and network impacts of pricing, revenue management, and schedule changes in a realistic, competitive marketplace, enabling experimentation with new and AI-enabled strategies prior to deployment.

Dr. Garrow is Past President of AGIFORS and the first woman and first academic to serve as President in the organization’s more than 60-year history, and has served on the Board of Directors of INFORMS. She is a frequent contributor to the media and has been quoted in numerous outlets, including USA Today, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, CNN, Scientific American, and PEOPLE Magazine.

She earned her PhD from Northwestern University and lives in Atlanta with her husband, Mike, and their three rescue cats: PeaPod, Smuckers, and Shadow.
